This was started in 2003 under the name of salopblog.co.uk. Salop is the old name for Shropshire and Shrewsbury. The county was renamed in the 80′s as the word also means tart or slut in French. I should have bought the .com domain as well but this was snapped up in January 2009 and is now an appalling porn site. While Google still listed salopblog.co.uk top it was followed by this prorn site so I had to change the domain name to Git News and I now control the .com and the .co.uk domains. This blog is hosted by 1simple and is powered by WordPress. Previously the blog was hosted by Typepad but the previous 1,200 posts have been imported here. At some point I will close the Typepad account and it is then that the links to all the photos will be lost. Pity – but had to be done.
